In Sudan, RSF Leader Sworn In as Head of a Parallel Government
The inauguration ceremony of General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo took place in the city of Nyala, South Darfur State, according to Asharq al-Awsat.
🔺The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) had announced in mid-July the creation of a parallel government made up of 15 members.
🔺The United Nations rejected the initiative, while the African Union’s Peace and Security Council called on member states and the international community not to recognize it.
🔺The Sudanese army, led by General Abdel Fattah Abdelrahmane al-Burhan and locked in conflict with the RSF since 2023, also strongly condemned the move.
